    Today you have the day at leisure. Explore the town and its famous Chapel Bridge, Lion Monumnet and many museums. Stroll by the lakeside or visit one of the nearby mountains. Overnight in Lucerne

  • Day 3

    - Lugano

    Take the train to Lugano. Experience the new Gotthard Base Tunnel which, with its 57 kms, is the longest tunnel in the world. It takes only 17 minutes to travel this fast track route under the Alpine Massif. Overnight in Lugano.

  • Day 4

    - St. Moritz

    Today you will travel on the Bernina Express along the UNESCO World Heritage route. Enjoy the ride taking you from the land of swaying palms to one of towering Glaciers. Overnight in St. Moritz.

  • Day 5

    - Zermatt

    Board the Glacier Express and enjoy one of the greatest rail journeys in the world. The Glacier Express takes you across 291bridges, through 91 tunnels and across the Oberalp Pass at 2033 m. Overnight in Zermatt.

    - Zermatt

    Be prepaared to be amazed as the Zermatt Bergbahnen takes you up to the highest cable car station in Europe at 12,739 feet. The panorama from the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise is breathtaking. Ocvernight in Zermatt

    - Montreux

    Travel on the Golden Pass Line through various mountain villages before you reach Interlaken. Spend some time on the Hoheweg, the 70 metre main street of Interlaken with its myriad shops selling everything from souveniers to high end jewellery and watches. Overnight in Interlaken.

    - Interlaken

    The journey to the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe, at 3454 metres Europe’s highest altitude railway station, is a highlight of your visit to Switzerland. It offers visitors a high-Alpine wonderworld of ice, snow and rock, which can be marvelled at from vantage terraces, the Aletsch Glacier or in the Ice Palace. Overnight in Interlaken.

Matterhorn Glacier Paradise/Klein Matterhorn - The highest place in Europe (3883 m) that can be reached by a cableway, with a viewing platform and the highest glacier palace in the world.
Matterhorn Museum - Houses the items of equipment used during the first ascent of the Matterhorn in 1865 which ended tragically.
Rothorn Paradise - The Rothorn Paradise gives you a view of the Matterhorn from its most beautiful side. The view of the Dufourspitze and the Weisshorn with the Matterhorn looming between them is just breathtaking.
Sunnegga Paradise -The paradise for families. From Zermatt, you can arrive at the Sunnegga paradise (2,288 m. above sea level) in only 3 minutes with the underground funicular railway. From the spacious sun terrace of the restaurant, you can then enjoy a wonderful view of the Matterhorn.
Gornergrat -With its viewing platform that can be reached throughout the year, the Gornergrat, at an altitude of 3,089 m above sea level, has been a big attraction for the last 111 years.
Gorner gorge - A footpath across narrow bridges and steps as well as a fixed rope route guide visitors through the deeply scarped gorge.
Village of Findeln - Original Valais settlement with a small chapel; it has Switzerland's highest rye crop fields at an altitude of 2100 metres.
Helicopter sightseeing flight - Eye-to eye with mountaineers, and a bird's eye view of the imposing peaks that surround Zermatt.

Must See

Parco Civico Ciani - Overlooking the shores of lake Ceresio, its 63.000 sq. metres constitute the city's green lung; it's a quiet place where you can take nice walks and where it is impossible to remain unperturbed by the grandeur of century old trees.
Monte Brè (925 m) - Lugano's closest mountain can be reached by funicular railway from Cassarate on the outskirts of Lugano and offers wonderful panorama of the town, lake and mountains, stretching right over the border into Italy.
Monte San Salvatore (912 m) - From the top of the "sugarloaf" (reached by funicular railway from Lugano-Paradiso) you can walk down the panoramic footpath to Carona and then on to Morcote.
San Lorenzo Cathedral - Set above the Old Town, it is worth a visit. The Cathedral's facade is in the Lombardy Renaissance style, and it has countless frescoes and valuable Baroque artefacts inside.
Church of Santa Maria degli Angioli - In this former monastery church, built around the year 1500, are fine frescoes by the masters of the Renaissance.
Tourist Train of Lugano - A tour of the City aboard the train “La freccia rossa” (the red arrow).
Swiss Miniatur - A must for families. The open-air museum where one can admire the most important Swiss buildings and means of transportation is a delight for adults and children alike. Their restaurant offers local, Chinese and Indian cuisine.

Montreux

The town of Montreux nestles in a sheltered Lake Geneva bay, surrounded by vineyards and against the breathtaking backdrop of snow-covered Alps. The Montreux Jazz Festival, which takes place in June/July and features concerts on a variety of stages and parks is very famous.

Must See

Rochers-de-Naye -The Rochers-de-Naye rack-railway, after overcoming a difference in altitude of 1600 metres, reaches one of the most beautiful vantage points in western Switzerland.
Golden Pass Line - The panorama train operates between Montreux, Gstaad and the Bernese Oberland with connections to Lucerne.
Lake Geneva Shipping Company - The ships, some of which are still powered by paddles, take visitors to the picturesque lakeside resorts.
Chillon Castle - Located on a rocky island near the shore featuring fortified walls and towers; the prison in which Bonivard was held in chains for four years and which provided Lord Byron with the inspiration for his famous poem "The prisoners of Chillon" in 1816 deserves particular attention. Nowadays the castle is a museum.
Montreux Jazz Festival - Since its beginning in 1967 the festival has developed into a big event which frequently features the greatest jazz, blues, rock, world music and soul musicians (June/July).
Comedy Festival - The humour festival every year brings together the most famous comedians from the French-, German- and English-speaking areas (December).
Christmas Market - One of Switzerland's famous Christmas Markets with numerous attractions and over one hundred decorated wooden houses brimming with gifts (December).

How do I book a tour with Swisstours?

  • You can book the tour by clicking on the holidays tab on the home page. From the list of tours on the holiday page you can select the package of your choice.
  • There on there is a step-by-step booking procedure which allows you to view details and rates of each tour before you make the final booking.
  • After selection of the tour and submission of your details you will be directed to the payment page where you can make payment by debit/ credit card.
  • Once you make the payment you will receive a confirmation email of your request immediately.
  • Your booking confirmation email will be sent to you within 72 hours after you book the tour.
  • We will send you (by email )the vouchers for the hotels booked, the sightseeing tours, mountain excursions and all other services described on the inclusions page of the package booked. All train tickets we cannot e-mail to you will be couriered to your residence or deposited at Zurich/ Geneva airport or the reception of the hotel where you spend the first night along the tour.
