Our SPAIN holiday was nothing less than a fairy tale!

While planning our family holiday we had many options but since we were looking at relaxing more than hopping around ancient monuments, we decided Spain as it has the best beaches and loads of sunshine at this time of the year. We flew into Barcelona which was like any other European city. The hop on hop off is the best thing to do to soak in the positive vibes of this city and the buzzling street of Ramblas with street side café, restaurants & live entertainment provides the best shopping experience. After a 3 day stay in Barcelona we headed to Marbella in the Costa de sol region. The train to Malaga & the bus journey to Marbella, though long was seamless and little did we know that this elegant resort town will take our breath away for the next few days to come. Marbella is a dream in itself. We stayed in Puerto Banus, considered as the flashiest Marina on Costa de Sol filled with luxury yachts, hi-end boutiques and bars which exude charisma. The whole resort town was straight out of paradise and is a heaven for the rich & the famous. Our family holiday was nothing less than a fairy tale with this mesmirizing town providing the perfecting setting. It would be definitely one of the most memorable & cherished holidays and we truly think that if there is heaven on earth, This is it, This is it, This is it……

Switzerland will always be special...

Switzerland will always be special. it was my first ever family holiday with our infant son. Lucerne was amazing, I call it the city with lake and mountains. Walking through old town admiring each building is truly an amazing experience. A walk along lake Lucerne holding hands with my wife was truly romantic with the sun setting in the background. Stanserhorn was beautiful and the open air gondola gives you a 360 degree view of the surrounding Swiss Alps.Next up is Gstaad where you get a real feel of a small Swiss village with rolling hills and snow capped mountains along with the sound of cow bells so pleasing to the ears. One advise - carry your 'gym along', cause there is no way you can resist the Swiss chocolates and cheese.

Zermatt. It's a fairy tale village ... It is simply worth a visit!

Just want to share my experience and knowledge about this mesmerizing land, Switzerland. Been to Switzerland in 02nd week of October last year, my favorite season! Average temperature for October is between 15 degrees to 1 degree from highest to the lowest. The places included were Basel, Interlaken, Gstaad, Montreux/Vevey and Geneva. Started our trip with Basel, a cultural town in northwest Switzerland, close to the country’s borders with France and Germany. Then we traveled to Interlaken, did Jungfrau and Harder Kulm from there, a Bollywood tour from Gstaad ( Yes! many of the Bollywood movies have been shot in this beautiful village from the western Switzerland ). Visited Chillon castle in Montreux and Charlie Chaplin world in Vevey. We ended our trip in Geneva with a visit to the Red Cross museum and 1 hour cruise on Lake Geneva.

While travelling from Interlaken to Gstaad we boarded the Golden Pass Line Panoramic which is a beautiful beautiful train route in the Swiss Alps with its base in Montreux, a highlight of our trip!

Accessibility - The way to reach here is very easy. There are daily flights from Mumbai and Delhi to Zurich and Geneva on Swiss.

Hotels in Switzerland, starting from basic to 5* are high in quality, neatly equipped and furnished and easily accessible even though if they're not exactly in the city center, thanks to Swiss Travel Pass which allows unlimited transportation throughout Switzerland by trams, trains, buses and boats. Swiss Travel Pass is undoubtedly the best way to explore Switzerland.

I really cannot say which was the best part of the trip as all the places have its own beauty :)

Note - English is widely spoken and this place is safe even for solo travelers.

PS : One place which we could not see during our visit last year was Zermatt. It's a fairy tale village located in southern part of Switzerland, home to a mammoth mountain - Matterhorn which is also known a Toblerone mountain. Tip - Please don't miss this beautiful destination. It is simply worth a visit.
This lifetime experience would not have been possible without SWISStours!!?

This year we chose Prague and what a decision that was!!

A wise man once said" Once a year, go someplace you've never been to before"
This year we chose Prague and what a decision that was!!
Any words glorifying Prague cannot prepare you for the beauty of this city. We had 4 nights to spend and decided to cover the city and the nearby places.
Our hotel Caesar was around a 10 minute walk from the main square - Wenceslas square which is pretty much the heartbeat of the city. From here, we walked around the Old Town and the Jewish quarter.
Every little cobblestoned bylane of this area offers unparalled architectural beauty with its buildings, churches, synagogues, bridges and old city gates
For our guided day tours we chose the Prague Palace complex which is the largest palace complex in the world spread over 70,000 sqm. We got to see the changing of the guards before heading in to the Palace itself so that was an extra treat.
Outside of Prague, we visited Kutna Hora to see the Sedlec Ossuary which is a chapel that is adorned with human bones .The ossuary is estimated to contain the skeletons of about 40,000 people who perished in the Black Plague
The next day we went on a full day tour of Cesky Krumlow which is a little over 2 hours away from Prague. Cesky Krumlov, the town and its 13th century castle are a UNESCO heritage sight and another gem of the region of Bohemia.
Even though most places in and around Prague can be reached quite easily by public transport, for those hungry to hear about the history of the art and architecture like we were, it would be a wise decision to opt for the guided tours. Having a local guide and the comfort of bus travel makes the whole experience a lot easier.

Memorable family holiday

We booked our Austrian/Swiss holiday with Swisstours. During our initial interactions we were asked us the right questions for us to reflect and decide on what would constitute a good holiday itinerary. Subsequently Arnaz - the Swisstours personnel stepped in to suggest changes to our itinerary, locations keping in mind practical considerations. She took time to understand our requirements, constraints and interests to tailor an itinerary that covered must see places while including portions that would take us to roads less travelled. Choice of hotels in terms of location, convenience, accessibility, family sized rooms and ensuring that hotels catered to our dietary requirements were all well considered. Thank you Swisstours for helping us plan this memorable vacation.

We have already started spreading the word amongst our friends to consider Swisstours as their agent of choice for destination Switzerland!

Experience ICELAND with SWISStours!

Vacation time - Thought of visiting an offbeat destination & here it was ICELAND, a country one must visit atleast once in a lifetime. We planned the entire trip though SWISStours by travelling on SWISS to Oslo & onward to Reykjavik - Capital of Iceland.

We landed at Keflavik Airport. Transfers from Keflavik Airport to accommodation in Reykjavik were already booked hence had a hassle free travel from & to the Airport. We had booked an apartment at Hotel FRON which was quite centrally located hence was easy to move around on foot & also had a flexibility of having food of our choice since there was a fully equipped kitchenette. Staff was very helpful through out our stay & English was widely spoken. Covered various places through guided tours from Reykjavik most of them included hotel pick up.

We traveled in beginning of December hence the weather was highly unpredictable, stormy at times as well. We opted for sightseeing tours which were pre-booked from here itself - South Iceland with Waterfalls, the Black Sand beaches, Volcanoes, Glaciers & beautiful landscapes, Whale watching in the North Atlantic Ocean, Northern lights tour by boat & visit to the most famous - The Blue Lagoon Spa. The Blue Lagoon was the highlight of the entire trip - highly rejuvenating. One needs to loosen their pockets when it comes to a holiday in Iceland & its simply worth it. Nightlife is quite active in Reykjavik - overall the place is highly safe even for solo travelers.

SWISStours - as the name depicts is mostly thought of while planning a trip to Switzerland but that's not what it is. One can experience travelling to offbeat destinations like ICELAND as well through SWISStours :)

Ease of communication - Excellent apartment location

Ease of communication with your travel managers and their patiently guiding us and replying to our every query is what really touched us. Even when there was some misunderstanding on the exchange rate mechanism, it was amicably resolved by them. I hope you are able to plan tours to the rest of Europe as well so that we can do many more tours with you.

Switzerland Apartment:
1- Excellent location especially because of connectivity to the main Station and the location of Migros next door.
2- Apartment manager was friendly but seemed to be in a hurry to explain the details and push off.
3- There should have been air conditioning. It was pretty warm at nights and the only pedestal fan that they provided was not enough.

We used the Swiss Travel Pass at the fullest and visited as many places as we could. Mt. Pilatus, Mt. Titlis, Lucerne Dinner cruise, every experience was just so beautiful!

The tour was designed very nicely. We are planning next trip to Austria from Swisstours.

I am back from my second tour to Switzerland. Both trips were book via swisstours.com and I would like to thank them for their accurate understanding to my requirements.
Places they have recommended were perfect and hotels were very convenient.
Jet boat in Interlaken , chocolate train to Gruyère , Grindelwald telepherique, Zermatt traditional village are just few of many wonderful attractions.
My friends in Dubai were amazed with the photos and in fact few of them have already booked their summer vacations in Switzerland!

The most amazing part of  the trip was the Swiss travel pass & Stanserhorn was the best

We had a lovely trip to Switzerland. Thanks to your help!! The apartment in Lucern was very nice. It had all the basic amenities and was comfortable. The most amazing part of  the trip was the Swiss travel pass. it really helped us get the most out of our vacation. We took innumerable trains and boat trips and did not have to think twice about going anywhere. In  fact, at times, we would just get off from the train at a beautiful place and then take the  boat back to Lucerne. Unlike what I had I heard, Swiss people were very friendly and we  thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Of the trips you had arranged for us, Stanserhorn was the best. It was not crowded and the  views from the top were breathtaking. Mount Pilatus was also really nice. We enjoyed the  boat trip and the train ride to the top. The cable ride back was amazing. Mount Titlis was  very crowded and though the views from the top very truly beautiful, the crowd at the top  took away a bit of the magic. The Swiss miniature was cute, but since we had already seen  the mini Europe in Brussels, we felt we could have avoided it.  All in all, this trip was amazing and we'll definitely like to go back to Switzerland!  Hope to get in touch with you again then. Thanks for everything

Again thanks for everything, especially the prompt and clear communication

Thanks for all the arrangements. All went off smoothly and we had a fabulous time. Next trip intend to go to a couple of Swiss locations again combined with Austria maybe.
Lucerne-Monopol: We were given a lake facing room but on one of the lower floors. So not much of a view. Very close to the station. Convenient
Lugano-De La Paix: Very small room with balcony, again on a lower floor facing the lake, but not much of a lake view due to obstructing buildings in front.
St.Moritz-Schweizerhof (One night). Room with side and back view-- Not bad. We asked for a lake facing room and were offered one for an additional 60 Swiss Francs, but we didn't take it due to a stay of just 1 night. But the lake facing room had a splendid view.
Zermatt- Schlosshotel: Overlooking Gornegrat station. Matterhorn not visible due to clouds. But we were upgraded to a luxury suite... Fabulous large suite with all the trimmings. One of the few hotels where we could have our own coffee etc in the room. Most of the other hotels did not provide electric kettles for heating water. (Provided transport to/from hotel).
Montreux- Suisse Majestic: Super room with a beautiful view of Lake Geneva. Very pleased with it. On one of the higher floors so no obstructions in the way. Just across the street from the station, so very convenient, especially with luggage to haul.
Interlaken- Metropole: The finest of all our hotels in Switzerland. Simply stunning views of the city and the Eiger North face from our room on the 12th floor. And the paragliders landing in the 'Hohematte' below our hotel was just a fabulous sight. Also got hotel car service to Interlaken West station on Departure.
Zurich- Wellenberg: Not much to write about, but very conveniently close to the station. (Tram or walk)

Information/Help at Reception at all hotels was very good. Of course not much help with the luggage to/from the rooms, except for the Zurich-Wellenberg. As mentioned earlier, no kettles in the rooms, unlike our Asian Hotels. Food (Breakfast) at all hotels was very good. Just what we prefer- Non veg local stuff.. Naturally it got a bit repetitive towards the end, but that is to be expected. There is only so much Salami and Cheese that one can eat every day.
I would also opt for 1st class rail travel again.. Compartments are practically empty.
Again thanks for everything, especially the prompt and clear communication. Will come to you again on any future European trip.

your meticulous planning and tour tips made it like a breeze through

It was really an unforgettable experience visiting Switzerland. The personalized itinerary and the logistic support coupled with your meticulous planning and tour tips made it like a breeze through. No hassles what so ever. For the first time visitors to Switzerland, I would highly recommend your package which covers most of what one needs to see in the short time  - giving enough flexibility on dates/ places. The accommodation at Luzern  i. e. UTORING APARTMENT wih a kitchette is very centrally located and is an ideal place to stay with family/friends.The staff  there is very helpful and friendly. I would rate it as 10/10 for an average upper middle class Indian family. The rail travel within Switzerland is sooooo convenient and soooo punctual. A Swiss rail pass giving free access to local buses/trams/ferries makes it all the more enjoyable. Highly recommended. Rating 10/10. (Tourists are strongly advised to carry the original rail pass properly stamped with the first date of travel and a copy of their passports while on the move) Swiss people are quite helpful and friendly. One ,  of course , needs to respect the local sensitivities.  Thank you once again for all your help and assistance.

Allmend apartment was very good

Overall it was a great trip and we have fond memories of the trip. Positive Feedback: Allmend apartment was very good and it was a fantastic idea to stay at Lucerne and connect to other locations.  Swiss travel pass for 15 days was a very good idea. Staff at Swisstours was very helpful and always cheerful in their dealings. Improvement feedback:  Allmend apartment should have cleaning somewhere mid week also – especially bathrooms. Hotel in Zurich kloten had some basic breakfast instead of regular breakfast. We should have been told earlier.  They told us after check in that we cant have regular breakfast buffet and we were given basic breakfast buffet.  5 attractions were largely trolleys and mountains. We should have been given some other attractions also as some mix is important. Some briefing on other attractions in Swiss would have been helpful.  For eg chocolate train etc.

more activities up the hill such as para gliding and helicopter ride

We had a wonderful trip and it was a pleasure having all bookings done from you, making it extremely convenient to travel. Only a few things I would like to bring into your notice.
1. The owner of the apartment told us that she had only 1 such apartment which has no balcony which was provided to us in the first place. We were not given any such information by you and its kinda not fair. Though you made it up by getting it changed.  2.There is a travel app which can be downloaded onto your mobile and is quite useful. Please pass this info to all your new bookings. Its a great help.3. Chocolate factory is not a factory for real but a show with a very sweet experience.4. Carrying warm clothes and putting them up layer by layer was the best idea provided by you. Because of this we enjoyed every moment on the higher altitudes. And we did go to every excursion. 5.At Grindelwald, on the way down one can hire bicycles and its a wonderful experience coming down. My family did it. You can recommend it to new clients. There are even more activities up the hill such as para gliding and helicopter ride.

We were happy with all the hotels recommended by you..

I would like to thank you once again for all your efforts in making our trip an amazing and memorable one ! We were happy with all the hotels recommended by you, especially The Alpenhotel,Saanen. All other arrangements were perfect. All in all we had a ball ! Would highly recommend - Muottas Muragl, a gorgeous viewpoint, around 2400 odd meters above sea level, offering stunning views of Piz Bernina and all its surrounding peaks. Its has lodging as well as an open air restaurant with breathtaking views. Its roughly a 20 minute journey by bus from St. Moritz to the base of Muottas Muragl and then a Funicular train takes you up to the top in about 10 minutes. Glacier 3000 was definitely the best mountain top point as it has way more snow activities than Mt. Pilatus or any of the others.Looking forward to Germany.

From innsbruck to Vienna including Salzburg through Swiss tours

Now we are very regular tourists to Europe and thanks to Swiss tours, which makes our fantastic ground packages and arrange other allied services. This year  we planned to  travel from Innsbruck to Vienna including Salzburg through Swisstours. Although we had a plan and we had shortlisted a few places to see there, it was really confusing as to which all places we could actually cover and also we were having a little trouble finding our way around. No words can describe how great the services at Swisstours was. They made all the ground arrangements as well as train Passes plus they explained the places very well. Because of the detailed explanation its so easy to travel like a local in a way different country than India. Though the Itinerary made by Swiss tours is really informative but It's of course better to have conversation with Swisstour's staff and believe me they are very good at it...I think its worth it.

Overall the trip was wonderful!

Some great positives from our sides:
- The apartment was wonderful.
- It was good to have the flexibility in travel – as we could plan according to the weather.
(all apps that you had recommended were useful).
- Europa Park – as recommended by you – was AWESOME – and the kids (and us) loved it.
- Swiss International Air Lines is a much better flight than others that I have used.

Some queries / things to improve :
- The connecting time for trains during travel between Germany / Switzerland was too little. We missed it once.
- There was no need to spend money on reservations as all the trains are practically only half full.

Float up to FIRST, Come down Flying!

The first time I visited Switzerland was back in 2011, since then I have had many opportunities thanks to SWISStours, to visit the land of The Alps, Watches, Cheeses and Chocolates. However, what I best recall is my visit to Grindelwald First back in October. This was the highlight of my trip. So, I made my way to this quaint and absolutely drop dead gorgeous town of Grindelwald, from Interlaken where I was staying at an apartment. Then you make your way from the train station through the beautiful town to the base station of Grindelwald First. You start to make your way up to the top of the mountain through a series of cable cars. The views you get while going up in the gondolas are quite nice, but the view from up top is simply staggering. As you stand on top of the many viewing decks, you simply cannot fathom the scenery that lay in front of you. The massive façade of the Jungfraujoch, the Eiger and the Mönch creates an unbelievable panorama and is an excellent photo-op. After you have taken your fair share of pictures, you should go try the Cliff walk, which is not for the faint hearted. This free activity is a walk around the Cliff façade of the First mountain suspended high up the mountains with shear drops into the valley. One can take advantage of this excellent vantage point overlooking the mountains to get some very nice pictures of the scenery from the safety of the steel cable bridge. The Cliff walk ends at a terrace that shoots out into the void, with a glass floor which make an excellent selfie point with views straight down into the valley. After you have had your fair share of selfies you can then make your way to the Zip Line, which was one of my favorites. The First Flyer ques are long so getting up early to beat the rush would not be a bad idea. Just the thrill of doing an 800 meter, 84Kmph, 50-meter-high zip line is worth the wait. After that you can take the gondola back up to the top of the mountain and grab a meal or a quick bite. I decided sit on the sun deck and order my meal to soak in the views before I decided to head back down for a Trottie bike ride though the valley down to the base station. The ride through the winding roads is real fun for all ages and is something that everyone should consider if they enjoy cycling. Unfortunately, for me I zipped down to the base station so quickly that never got a chance to enjoy the magnificent views. My tip would be to enjoy the ride at your own pace and not make the ride a race, which unfortunately was the case for me. Never the less this was an absolutely amazing experience, something that I will not forget in the near future. I would recommend this for ALL!
